More On Aliases

• Tricky to write.

• Want a large set for maximum functionality.

• Want to add new aliases dynamically.

• Solution:

  • Master interpreter can create and delete aliases.
  • Certify code of aliases cryptographically.
  • Incoming scripts can contain new aliases!

• "Safe-Tcl" prototype implemented by Nathaniel Borenstein and Marshall Rose, in use for active e-mail since 1993.

• Generalized version in Tcl core now.
